Dear Friends of the Ferdinand State Forest,

As most of you know, Mitch Daniels’ new “forest management” policy and the subsequent heavy increase of logging in the Ferdinand State Forest are subjects of much attention these days. Many of you have voiced your opinion at the forest open houses or in other ways.

Continued direct contact with state officials is needed. Individualized letters receive the most attention. If you are inclined to write a letter or make a call, below are a few simple starting points (among many) along with the names and contact information of state personnel most in a position to address the new, long-term logging plan. Please add your own views and opinions, from your various perspectives—citizen, taxpayer, naturalist, hiker, camper, hunter, bicyclist, private landowner/tree farm owner, etc.
